Bhopal, October 7, 2025: Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the new conference hall of Police Headquarters, Bhopal, on October 7, 2025. The meeting was attended by all Zonal IGs, DIGs, SPs, and heads of various police branches across the state. The primary agenda was to review law and order, crime control, staff management, and administrative reforms. This large-scale, in-person review meeting is expected to help in strengthening policy decisions and improving the operational efficiency of the police force.

During the meeting, DGP Makwana emphasized that continuous improvement and upgradation in police functioning are essential. He stated that maintaining law and order goes beyond crime control—it also includes ensuring peace, trust, and a sense of security among citizens. He instructed officers to maintain full vigilance during VVIP events, take swift and impartial action in sensitive cases, and launch targeted operations against cybercrime, Naxal activities, and drug networks.

He said, “Good work should be recognized, and officers or personnel delivering exceptional performance should be rewarded promptly.”

The DGP informed that recruitment for 8,500 vacant posts has already begun to fill staffing gaps. He also mentioned significant progress in efforts to eliminate the Naxal problem.

Addressing major challenges such as cybercrime, drug trafficking, and road safety, Makwana directed strict measures for women’s safety and responsible monitoring of social media platforms.

Several key decisions were taken to make police operations more professional and efficient. The DGP ordered the acceleration of the staff audit process and the optimal deployment of available manpower. He also highlighted the need to start early preparations for Simhastha 2028, focusing on crowd management, security, and traffic control.

Makwana further directed strengthening digital policing platforms such as Dial-112, CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems), and the public grievance portal, ensuring that public complaints receive prompt, sensitive, and fair responses. All police stations were instructed to strictly comply with the directions of the Hon’ble High Court and Supreme Court.

He underlined that discipline, balanced behavior, and professionalism must form the foundation of police work. At the police station level, officers must interact with the public with patience, restraint, and empathy while ensuring quick action. This approach, he said, would help project a humane image of the police and build public trust.

The DGP appreciated the continuous good work being done by field officers, particularly in solving serious cases, recovering stolen property, and arresting offenders. He stressed timely staff rotation, and directed the implementation of stress management and the micro-beat system across all units to improve the mental well-being and efficiency of police personnel.

In conclusion, DGP Makwana said that the police’s duty is not limited to crime control and maintaining law and order. Building public trust, transparency, and a positive image of the police force is equally important.
