Khatima, September 1, 2026: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the newly developed Nagar Van Oxygen Park in Khatima and planted saplings in the park परिसर. He also inspected the facilities and said the green space would provide residents with a cleaner, healthier and more pleasant environment.
During the programme, Dhami announced plans to expand the Nagar Van Oxygen Park and shift the Forest Range Officer’s office to the park campus. He also announced the construction of a stadium, a workshop facility, a circuit house and a vending zone in Khatima.
The Chief Minister said Khatima’s location is strategically important from a tourism perspective, particularly for visitors travelling toward Vyas Valley, Panchachuli and Adi Kailash. He said a circuit house would be constructed in the town to improve facilities for tourists and pilgrims travelling through the area.
Dhami said the Oxygen Park will serve as an important green space for residents and called upon the community to help keep it clean and well maintained. He also directed officials to build a pink toilet within the park for the convenience of women visitors.
Referring to rising global temperatures and the growing challenge of climate change, the Chief Minister said forests and environmental conservation have become more important than ever. He said ecology and economy are not rivals, but complementary to one another.
The state government, he said, is working to expand economic activities while maintaining balance with nature and the environment. This approach will help create sustainable livelihood and employment opportunities for future generations.
Dhami said Uttarakhand is also moving ahead rapidly in promoting environmental protection and clean energy through electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and solar power projects.
Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar MP Ajay Bhatt said Uttarakhand is moving steadily on the path of development under Dhami’s leadership and is emerging as one of the country’s leading states in several sectors.
Municipal Chairperson Ramesh Chandra Joshi thanked the Chief Minister for the development of the Nagar Van Oxygen Park.
District Panchayat President Ajay Maurya, Block Pramukh Sarita Rana, public representatives, senior forest officers, District Magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadoria, SSP Ajay Ganpati, Conservator of Forests Nitishmani Tripathi, DFO Deepak Singh and a large number of local residents attended the event.
