Cultural Evening Marks State Day Celebration at Pragati Maidan

Raipur, November , 2024: The vibrant culture and traditions of Chhattisgarh captivated audiences at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, during the State Day Celebration of Chhattisgarh at the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF). Chief Minister Highlights Chhattisgarh’s Role in Building a Stronger India

Inaugurating the event, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai described Chhattisgarh as a “Land of Opportunities.” He emphasized the state’s pivotal role in contributing to the vision of a stronger India through infrastructure development, agricultural innovation, and industrial growth.

“Our government is committed to making Chhattisgarh a leader in education, healthcare, and employment sectors. With a blend of rich cultural heritage and modern progress, Chhattisgarh is poised to establish a global identity,” the Chief Minister said during his address.


Spectacular Folk Performances Enthrall the Audience

The cultural evening showcased Chhattisgarh’s diverse traditions through enchanting folk dances and music, celebrating the state’s festivals and customs. Folk artists presented traditional dances such as Gaura-Gauri, Bhojli, Raut Nacha, Suaa, and Panthi, reflecting the state’s rich artistic diversity.

Each performance brought to life the vibrant traditions of Chhattisgarh:

  • Gaura-Gauri and Bhojli highlighted the religious customs and rituals of the state.
  • Suaa dance featured melodious songs that depicted the emotional connection to Chhattisgarh’s cultural ethos.
  • Raut Nacha, a dance celebrating the valor and legacy of cattle herders, captivated the audience with its energy.
  • The spiritual and devotional elements of Panthi and Karama dances immersed spectators in the profound depth of Chhattisgarh’s heritage.

Prominent dignitaries attending the event included Ritu Sain, Chhattisgarh’s Investment Commissioner in Delhi; Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat; Secretary of Culture Anbalagan P; Director of Culture and Rajbhasha Department Vivek Acharya; General Manager of Minor Forest Produce Federation Manivasan S; and other officials like Ravi Mittal (Commissioner, Public Relations), Shruti Singh (Resident Commissioner), and Vishwesh Kumar (General Manager, CSIDC).
