Uttarakhand: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying India is witnessing rapid development and that Uttarakhand is emerging as one of the key beneficiaries of the Centre’s long-term development push. He said the Prime Minister’s vision has strengthened the idea of a capable, self reliant and confident India while also giving Devbhoomi a clear path toward renewed growth.
Dhami said the impact of the Centre’s policies is visible across the state, especially in roads, rail, air connectivity, health care and pilgrimage infrastructure. He noted that more than Rs 2 lakh crore worth of development projects are currently underway in Uttarakhand with central support, including major works such as the Char Dham all weather road, the Delhi Dehradun Expressway, the Rishikesh Karnaprayag rail line and airport expansion at Jollygrant, Pantnagar and Pithoragarh. He added that these projects are not only improving connectivity but also creating new opportunities for tourism, trade and local employment.
The chief minister also referred to the growth of heliport and helipad networks in the hill state, saying improved air access is helping both residents and pilgrims reach remote areas more safely and quickly. He said the Centre’s support for ropeway projects, temple redevelopment and multipurpose water schemes is giving a new direction to Uttarakhand’s future.
Dhami further highlighted the social welfare side of the Modi government’s work, pointing to large scale housing, food security and health coverage initiatives. He said these schemes matter deeply in a state like Uttarakhand, where geography makes service delivery difficult and every infrastructure improvement has a direct effect on people’s lives.
Calling the current era the Amrit Kaal of development, Dhami urged citizens of Uttarakhand to actively participate in the transformation journey. He said the state’s progress is closely linked to the national vision of a developed India by 2047, and that Uttarakhand can play a leading role in that mission through balanced growth, stronger connectivity and environmental responsibility.
