ISRO Set to Create History with the Launch of Proba-3 Mission Today

New Delhi, December 4: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to create history today with the launch of the Proba-3 Solar Mission, developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA). The launch will take place from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, using the PSLV-C59 launch vehicle.


What is Proba-3?

The Proba-3 mission is an “In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) Mission” developed by ESA to test precision formation flying in space for the first time. This pioneering mission will involve the deployment of two satellites, which will maintain a fixed configuration while orbiting the Earth. This advanced formation will allow unprecedented accuracy in scientific experiments and pave the way for groundbreaking space technology applications.
