Bhopal: The political temperature in Madhya Pradesh has risen once again after State Congress Chief Jitu Patwari referred to the Global Investors Summit (GIS) as a ‘gimmick’. Reacting strongly to his statement on Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hit back, accusing the Congress of hypocrisy.
BJP State Spokesperson Dr. Durgesh Keswani condemned Patwari’s remarks, stating, “Congress leaders should first introspect before making baseless allegations. The 18-month-long Kamal Nath government was infamous for running a ‘transfer industry,’ where officials could secure their preferred postings in exchange for money.”

Congress Criticizes Even Good Initiatives: BJP
Responding to Jitu Patwari’s claims, Dr. Keswani asserted that the Global Investors Summit would be a milestone for Madhya Pradesh’s economic growth. He accused the Congress of opposing and criticizing even positive initiatives taken for the state’s development.
Taking a dig at the Kamal Nath-led Congress government, he remarked,
“People had high hopes when an industrialist like Kamal Nath became Chief Minister. However, instead of bringing industries, his government turned into a ‘transfer industry’ where bureaucrats and officers were shuffled like playing cards.”
Dr. Keswani further stated that while the Congress’ mismanagement is well known, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is making sincere efforts to bring investment and establish industries in the state. He confidently claimed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Madhya Pradesh will soon rank among India’s top three economies.
PM Modi and CM Yadav’s Vision: ‘Viksit Bharat and Viksit Madhya Pradesh’
Dr. Keswani emphasized that the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal would be remembered as a ‘golden era’ in the state’s history.
“PM Modi and CM Yadav are working towards realizing the vision of a ‘Developed India’ and a ‘Developed Madhya Pradesh,’ and this summit is a crucial step in that direction,” he said.
BJP’s Pro-Investment Policies vs. Congress’ Failures
Highlighting BJP’s achievements in creating a business-friendly environment, Dr. Keswani said,
“The BJP government has built a strong infrastructure, making Madhya Pradesh a top choice for domestic and international investors. In contrast, when the Congress was in power, the state was in complete disarray.”
Mocking the Congress’ poor governance, he added,
“Earlier, people had to search for roads amidst potholes. But today, wherever you look, you see only well-built roads!”
‘Electricity Now Comes, It Doesn’t Go!’ – BJP’s Dig at Congress
Dr. Keswani also took a swipe at the Congress’ mismanagement of power supply, saying,
“During Congress rule, electricity used to come occasionally. But now, power cuts are a rarity, and Madhya Pradesh has become a ‘surplus power state’.”
Additionally, he noted the massive improvement in irrigation facilities, stating that during Congress rule, the irrigated area was just 4.5 lakh hectares, whereas today, it has expanded to 50 lakh hectares under the BJP government.
With such strong political confrontations, the debate over the Global Investors Summit is expected to further intensify in the coming days.
