Bhopal, December 13, 2024: Madhya Pradesh has taken a significant leap toward empowering its youth by advancing skill development initiatives under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. With a focus on making young people self-reliant and job-ready, the state has achieved remarkable milestones in technical education and vocational training over the past year. These efforts are not just policies but a mission to pave a path of employment and self-sufficiency for every youth in the state.

Bringing Skill Development to Every Corner

Under Dr. Yadav’s guidance, 22 underdeveloped blocks, which previously lacked training facilities, now boast new ITI (Industrial Training Institutes). This expansion has not only brought technical training closer to underserved regions but also opened new employment avenues. The total number of government ITIs in the state has now reached 290, reflecting the Chief Minister’s commitment to education and job creation.

Recognizing the evolving demands of industries, Chief Minister Yadav introduced cutting-edge courses like Electric Vehicle Mechanic, Solar Technician, and Food Production. These programs equip students with future-ready skills and provide them with direct entry into high-demand industries.

Green Skilling: A Sustainable Vision

Taking a step towards sustainability, ITIs in Dewas, Dhar, and Chhindwara have been transformed into Green Skilling Centers. These centers focus on training youth in solar technology and electric vehicle maintenance, blending environmental conservation with employment opportunities.

“Learn and Earn” Initiative

The “Learn and Earn” scheme symbolizes the government’s commitment to offering both employment and practical experience to young people. In 2024, over 24,000 organizations participated in the program, and more than 22,000 trainees benefited from it. The initiative not only generates income but also prepares youth for industrial roles.

Technological Innovations in Education

Dr. Yadav’s vision has led to the establishment of four Centers of Excellence in collaboration with IIT Delhi. These centers focus on advanced courses like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Virtual Reality, ensuring that Madhya Pradesh’s youth stay ahead in the tech-driven future.

Empowering Women in STEM

To promote gender equality, the government partnered with UN Women to train women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and soft skills. This initiative is especially impactful in tribal-dominated districts, where women are finding new opportunities and setting examples of self-reliance.

Recognition and Inspiration

The state’s efforts received national recognition when two trainers from Bhopal Division ITI were awarded the National Teacher Award. Additionally, mascots like “Daksh” and “Hunar” have been introduced to inspire young minds and emphasize the importance of skill development.

The Foundation for Self-Reliant Madhya Pradesh

Chief Minister Yadav believes in unlocking the potential of every youth by providing the right resources and opportunities. His leadership has transformed skill development into a foundation for employment and self-reliance, going beyond mere training programs.

Through the ODOP initiative, each district in the state promotes a flagship product, giving small and medium entrepreneurs access to national and international markets. This has strengthened the local economy and created self-employment opportunities for thousands of young entrepreneurs.

Global-Level Skill Development

On December 5, 2024, the Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skills Park (SSR-GSP) signed a historic MoU with IIT Delhi and IIT Ropar. This partnership ensures better training and placement opportunities for students, both nationally and internationally. Additionally, the faculty at the park underwent training in Singapore, bringing global standards to technical education in Madhya Pradesh.

Under the Youth Sangam Campaign, an outreach van travels across districts, spreading awareness about self-employment, job opportunities, and skill development programs. This initiative ensures that the benefits of skill development reach every corner of the state.

Employment Fairs: Creating Opportunities

In the past year, the Directorate of Employment organized 540 job fairs across the state, offering employment letters to over 61,000 applicants. Additionally, 701 career counseling sessions were held, benefiting over 33,000 youth by guiding them toward the right career paths.

Regular Employment Drives for a Bright Future

From November 2024, district headquarters began hosting monthly employment, apprenticeship, and self-employment fairs under the Youth Sangam program. These fairs provide job opportunities, vocational training, and entrepreneurial support, fostering self-reliance among the youth.
