BJP’s Fierce Criticism Against Digvijay Singh

Congress leader Digvijay Singh has found himself at the center of a political storm after making statements in defense of Umar Khalid. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Singh of supporting anti-national elements, igniting a war of words.
“Terrorists Are Addressed as ‘Ji’ And Zakir Naik As ‘Messenger of Peace’”
Madhya Pradesh BJP spokesperson Dr. Durgesh Keswani lashed out at Digvijay Singh, stating, “Digvijay Singh always stands in support of terrorists. He addresses terrorists as ‘Ji’, calls Zakir Naik a ‘Messenger of Peace’, and now refers to Umar Khalid as ‘Khalid Sahab’. Whose fight is he truly fighting?” Keswani further alleged that Singh’s comments are aimed at appeasing a particular community by consistently siding with anti-national forces.
“Standing With ‘Bharat Tere Tukde Honge’ Gang”
Dr. Keswani accused Singh of supporting those who chant slogans like ‘Bharat Tere Tukde Honge Inshallah-Inshallah’. According to him, Singh’s actions repeatedly contribute to communal disharmony. “When ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were raised in Ujjain, Digvijay Singh only heard ‘Qazi Sahab Zindabad’. His only intention is to appease a particular community,” Keswani stated.
Targeting Digvijay Singh’s Stand on Ram Temple
Keswani also criticized Singh’s consistent opposition to the Ram Temple. “At this age, he should seek the shelter of Lord Ram, but instead, he continues to question the construction of the temple. His entire political strategy revolves around appeasement and spreading confusion in society,” he added.
“If He Doesn’t Change, Digvijay Will Become History”
Issuing a stern warning, Dr. Keswani advised Digvijay Singh to reconsider his political stance. “If he doesn’t change, Congress will soon be history, and Digvijay Singh will merely be a forgotten part of it.”
What Triggered The Controversy?
The controversy erupted after Digvijay Singh, during a recent event, expressed sympathy for Umar Khalid, stating, “We cannot stand by and watch innocent people being harassed.” Singh argued that Khalid and others are being unfairly targeted by the administration.
BJP’s Aggressive Counterattack
The BJP quickly responded to Singh’s comments, labeling them as support for anti-national forces. Notably, Umar Khalid’s bail plea is currently under consideration, and he is accused of conspiring in the Delhi riots. The BJP maintains that by expressing support for Khalid, Digvijay Singh has once again aligned himself with extremist elements.
