Bhopal: Thursday, November 7, 2024,: Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge) Krishna Gaur has directed officials to ensure all arrangements, including road, electricity, parking, and drinking water facilities, are completed on time for the upcoming Ijtima event. Gaur inspected preparations at the Ijtima site in Eintkhedi and reviewed arrangements with departmental officials.

The minister emphasized that Bhopal’s Ijtima event is a significant gathering for the Muslim community, attracting devotees from across the nation and abroad. She stressed the need for prompt and responsible completion of all facilities related to transportation, accommodations, and other essential services. During the inspection, Minister Gaur assessed department-wise progress. She expressed concern over the lack of progress on internal and connecting roads at Eintkhedi and urged officials to ensure completion within the next week. Topics discussed included parking, power supply, drinking water, medical aid, security, and sanitation.

It was noted in the meeting that the Ijtima organizing committee has deployed 25,000 volunteers to work round the clock during the event. This year, single-use plastics will be prohibited, and measures will be in place to control dust. Waste will be carefully managed, and wet waste will be processed into compost.

Attendees included MLA Vishnu Khatri, Additional Chief Secretary Ajit Kesari, Bhopal Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, Rural Bhopal SP Pramod Kumar Sinha, and Ijtima committee members Dr. Umar Hafeez Khan, Arif Gauhar Khan, Mukhtar Uddin, district officials, and committee members from various departments.
