Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state government is making significant strides to enhance religious tourism and restore sacred sites. This initiative not only preserves the state’s cultural identity but also boosts its economy by promoting religious tourism.

As the current administration approaches its first anniversary on December 13, efforts to rejuvenate existing religious sites and establish new spiritual landmarks are being intensified. These initiatives aim to position Madhya Pradesh as a premier destination for religious tourism.

Madhya Pradesh is home to diverse spiritual traditions encompassing Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Islam. Its prominent sites have seen a remarkable increase in tourist visits, particularly after the launch of Mahakal Mahalok in Ujjain. This spiritual hub has become a significant attraction, highlighting the economic and cultural potential of religious tourism.

  1. Mahakal Mahalok, Ujjain
    Developed as a vibrant spiritual center around the Mahakaleshwar Temple, this site has become the centerpiece of Madhya Pradesh’s religious tourism efforts, enhancing visitor experiences while preserving cultural heritage.
  2. Salakanpur Devi Lok
    The Shakti temple at Salakanpur has been developed to provide pilgrims with better access and facilities, reinforcing its status as a prime religious destination.
  3. Shri Hanuman Lok, Chhindwara
    Celebrating Lord Hanuman, this site has been designed to offer devotees a serene and spiritually enriching experience.

The government plans to launch the Vrindavan Gram Yojana, converting selected villages into model rural development centers with cow shelters and dairy production facilities. In urban areas, Gita Bhavan Centers are being established to promote the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and other scriptures, providing access to spiritual literature and fostering an environment of learning and reflection.
