Janjgir-Champa, November 29, 2024 The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) has transformed the lives of countless families in Janjgir-Champa district by turning their dream of owning a pucca house into reality. This initiative, aimed at economically weaker sections, has helped people build safe and secure homes, changing their lives for the better.
One such beneficiary is Shatrughan Patel, a resident of Podi Shankar village under the Bamhani Deeh Janpad Panchayat. Shatrughan, along with his family, used to live in a dilapidated kutcha house. During the monsoon, they feared water flooding their home, while winter brought bone-chilling cold winds that seeped through the walls. Every season presented challenges, making life difficult for the family.
A Safe and Comfortable Home
Shatrughan shared how the PMAY scheme gave him hope and enabled him to begin construction on his pucca house. With the financial aid provided under the scheme, his dream home gradually took shape. Today, Shatrughan, his wife, and their three children live in a safe, comfortable, and permanent house, free from the worries of seasonal hardships.
“This scheme has been a blessing for us,” Shatrughan expressed with joy. “Now, we no longer worry about the safety and future of our children. The PMAY has not only given us a roof over our heads but also empowered us to live a life of dignity and security.”
Empowering Economically Weaker Families
Shatrughan highlighted how the initiative has been instrumental in uplifting economically weaker families. By providing financial assistance for housing, the scheme is helping families like his achieve self-reliance and a better quality of life. He also praised the government for making it possible for families to fulfill the dream of owning a home, calling it a milestone in providing housing for all.
The PMAY continues to play a pivotal role in improving the lives of millions across the country, ensuring that no one is left without a safe and secure place to call home.
