Dehradun, June 23, 2026: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is witnessing a new era of cultural revival through the development and reconstruction of major spiritual sites. He said the Char Dham Yatra, along with the redevelopment of sacred destinations such as Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Mahakal Lok and Kedarnath Dham, is giving fresh strength to India’s spiritual heritage.

Dhami said the new phase of pilgrimage development is not limited to religious significance alone, but is also reshaping the cultural identity of the country. According to him, the ongoing transformation of pilgrimage sites is creating a stronger connection between faith, tradition and modern infrastructure.

The chief minister said the Char Dham route has become a symbol of India’s spiritual awakening, with improved facilities and renewed attention to the needs of pilgrims. He added that the redevelopment work underway at key sacred centres is reflecting the Centre’s commitment to preserving and enhancing India’s civilizational legacy.

He further noted that under the Modi government, pilgrimage infrastructure is being developed in a way that balances tradition with convenience, allowing devotees to experience these sacred sites with greater ease and dignity. Dhami said the spiritual circuit in Uttarakhand is now emerging as an important pillar of the state’s tourism and development strategy.

The chief minister’s message highlights the growing emphasis on spiritual tourism in Uttarakhand and across India. With Char Dham, Kedarnath and Badrinath receiving renewed attention, the state government says it is working to position Devbhoomi as a major centre of faith, culture and pilgrimage in the country’s broader development story.
