Bhopal: Thursday, November 7, 2024, In Madhya Pradesh, the GYAN (an acronym for Poor, Youth, Farmers, and Women Welfare) initiative is transforming the lives of marginalized families. The state government is working on a mission mode for the welfare of three Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs): Baiga, Bharia, and Saharia. The GYAN program, along with the central government’s PM Jan-Man initiative, focuses on providing essentials such as permanent housing, electricity, clean drinking water, road connectivity, Aadhaar registration, and bank accounts to these communities.

This Diwali, the government gifted permanent homes to 20 Baiga families. In Sohagpur Block of Shahdol District, a grand home-entry celebration was organized in the village of Badhwabada. Here, 20 Baiga families entered their new homes together after a traditional ritual. The ceremony was led by local MLA Manisha Singh, who conducted the ritual under the PM Jan-Man scheme, officially handing over the homes to the Baiga families as a Diwali gift. Among those receiving homes were Bablu Baiga, Dablu Baiga, Ram Bhuwan Baiga, Rahul Baiga, Ramkaran Baiga, Vippa Baiga, Bully Baiga, Shyamdas Baiga, Ghanshyam Baiga, Manoj Baiga, and other members of the Baiga community.

The PM Jan-Man initiative is designed to uplift tribal families, providing them with essential amenities and health services to improve their quality of life. In Shahdol, the scheme is prioritizing the Baiga beneficiaries, aiming to bring lasting change to their living conditions.

### A New Home for Ramun Baiga

In Bhamla village, Budhar Block of Shahdol, Ramun Baiga received a permanent home under the PM Jan-Man scheme. Grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Ramun expressed his joy, saying he can now live a safe and dignified life with his family. Previously, he faced numerous difficulties in his makeshift home, but with a solid roof over his head, life has significantly improved.

### Jawahar Lal Baiga’s Permanent Roof

Similarly, Jawahar Lal Baiga from Mehrodi village in Budhar Block also received a permanent home under the PM Jan-Man scheme. Delighted, Jawahar Lal repeatedly thanked Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for the gift of a secure home, which marks a new beginning for him and his family.
