Under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership, Chhattisgarh is witnessing a transformative surge in housing for the poor through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural and Urban). Millions of families are shedding the burdens of makeshift homes, embracing secure and dignified lives as the state shatters records in construction speed and scale.

In 2025 to 2026 alone, over 6 lakh pucca houses were completed (a monumental achievement). The state government has approved nearly 18 lakh rural homes, while urban areas have seen approvals for 2.75 lakh houses, with 2.17 lakh already built. These figures underscore Sai’s administration’s unwavering commitment to elevating living standards at breakneck pace.

A poignant example unfolds in Girari village, Pendara block, Gaurela Pendra Marwahi district. Madan, once trapped in a crumbling kuccha house where monsoons brought dread, leaking roofs, flooded floors, and constant peril, received approval under PMAY Gramin in 2024 to 2025. With scheme aid and his own sweat, he built a sturdy home. Today, his family lives fear free. “Rains used to flood us out,” Madan recalls emotionally, “but now we’re at peace, our lives have truly changed.”

This housing drive transcends bricks and mortar, it fosters social dignity, security, and self reliance. Sai’s vision ensures no family endures kuccha hardships, propelling Chhattisgarh toward prosperity and inclusive growth.
