The Madhya Pradesh government continues to prioritize its youth, empowering them through sports, careers, and infrastructure development. With initiatives that combine sporting excellence and job creation, the government is building a solid foundation for future generations.

Empowering Youth Through Sports

On December 18, 2024, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav distributed ₹25.389 crore to the state’s sports talents as part of a grand recognition ceremony. Earlier, on October 2, 2024, the state awarded government appointment letters to 18 Vikram Award recipients, recognizing their outstanding achievements in sports.

In a recent milestone, the Government of India announced the prestigious Arjuna Awards for Madhya Pradesh’s para-athletes Kapil Parmar and Rubina Francis on January 2, 2025, marking another proud moment for the state. The awards will be presented by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 17, 2025, honoring their stellar international performances.

Creating Employment Opportunities

The Madhya Pradesh government is actively addressing youth employment, with nearly 1 lakh job openings announced across departments. Over the next five years, the state aims to create 2.5 lakh government jobs, supported by an annual government exam calendar to streamline recruitment. So far, 11,000 candidates have received appointment letters for various government roles.

In addition, the state has achieved the lowest unemployment rate in India, as reported by the PLFS survey. Under the Start-Up Policy, financial support ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹1.5 lakh is being provided to entrepreneurs to participate in national and international events. On the State-Level Employment Day, loans worth ₹5,000 crore were distributed to 7 lakh youth for self-employment, while ₹41 crore in stipends were provided to nearly 20,000 beneficiaries under the Learn and Earn Scheme in 2024. Moreover, 61,000 job offers have been extended through private-sector employment fairs.

Revolutionizing Sports Infrastructure

The state government has launched multiple projects to strengthen sports infrastructure:

  • 111 stadiums/training centers have been constructed, with 56 more under development.
  • A ₹985 crore international sports complex is being built in Bhopal.
  • A Sports College and synthetic track are being developed in Satna.
  • The One District-One Sports Complex initiative aims to establish sports facilities in all districts.

Furthermore, a dedicated sports quota in the police force will ensure 10 Sub-Inspectors and 50 Constables are recruited annually.

Focus on Education and Skill Development

The government is also expanding educational opportunities:

  • A satellite campus of IIT is being established in Ujjain.
  • Pilot training courses will commence in state universities, while government colleges will introduce agriculture programs.
  • Six universities in Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain, and Rewa will have incubation centers for emerging trades like AI, machine learning, and coding.
  • 22 new ITIs are being opened in 2025, adding 5,280 seats. Devoted to green skills, ITIs in Devas, Chhindwara, and Dhar will offer courses on solar technology and electric vehicle mechanics.

Transforming Lives Through Sports Science

Recognizing the critical role of sports science in athlete performance, the government is establishing an international-level Sports Science Center in Nathu Barkheda, Bhopal. With a PPP model, the state aims to develop and maintain sports infrastructure efficiently, promoting accessibility and sustainability.

Promoting Community and E-Sports

In a novel move, the state plans to set up E-Sports Academies, aligning with youth interests in digital gaming. Additionally, outdoor gyms will be installed in each constituency to foster fitness awareness. Sports committees will implement a “Pay and Play” model, ensuring infrastructure use benefits the community while generating revenue.

Skill enhancement programs for trainers and a year-round calendar of intellectual and physical activities will ensure the holistic growth of youth across the state.

Nurturing Grassroots Talent

Each district will focus on its most popular sport, with resources concentrated on nurturing local talent. Schools will also receive essential sports equipment, fostering early engagement in athletics. By linking sports to education, Madhya Pradesh aims to cultivate champions in shooting, equestrianism, hockey, and water sports, offering international exposure to talented athletes.

With its unwavering commitment to youth welfare, sports, and innovation, Madhya Pradesh is setting an example for holistic development, ensuring that every young individual has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.
