Irrigation and Drinking Water Benefits for Malwa and Bundelkhand
CM Reviews Sagar, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Chambal Divisions
Bhopal, December 18, 2024, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has emphasized that the river-linking projects in Madhya Pradesh are the result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and leadership. The Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal River Linking project agreement (MoA) was finalized under the Prime Minister’s guidance, and the Ken-Betwa Link Project is set to be inaugurated on December 25 in Khajuraho. Both projects will significantly benefit Madhya Pradesh. CM Yadav urged citizens from the impacted regions to join the Prime Minister in Khajuraho to express their gratitude.

While reviewing welfare initiatives in Sagar, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Chambal divisions at the Chief Minister’s residence, Dr. Yadav highlighted that these projects will enhance irrigation in Malwa and Bundelkhand regions while ensuring sufficient drinking water availability. He suggested organizing art and debate competitions in schools on water conservation and urged connecting gram panchayats across the state to the land-puja event for the Ken-Betwa project to raise awareness about water conservation.
Proposal to Link Madhya Pradesh’s Rivers
CM Yadav stressed the need to develop proposals to link state rivers based on utility and asked for district-level action plans to maximize the benefits of these inter-state projects.
Progress of Welfare Camps and Development Activities
The Chief Minister emphasized ensuring the smooth implementation of welfare schemes under the Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan Abhiyan (CM Welfare Campaign). He directed teams to conduct door-to-door surveys, collect applications, and resolve public grievances without delays. Priority was given to surveying under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Dr. Yadav also urged district officials to share progress reports with elected representatives and escalate unresolved issues to the state level for prompt action.
Welfare Camps and Applications Received
It was reported that over 12,000 welfare camps are being organized in Sagar, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Chambal divisions. So far, 72,600 applications have been received, out of which 41,381 have been approved. The highest number of applications were received in Ujjain, Chhatarpur, Ashok Nagar, Gwalior, Sagar, Ratlam, and Guna districts. For Ayushman Bharat scheme applications, 75.2% (15,138 out of 20,134) were approved. Similarly, 51% of labor registration requests and 64% of land record (khasra/khatauni) requests were approved.
Suggestions from Ministers and MLAs
Ministers and MLAs from the respective divisions, including Agriculture Minister Endal Singh Kansana, Food Supply Minister Govind Singh Rajput, Social Justice Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha, and others, presented their suggestions. Officials, including divisional commissioners and district collectors, joined the review meeting virtually.
