Athletes Honored with ₹25.389 Crore in Incentives

On the 8th day of the Jan Kalyan Parv (Public Welfare Festival), Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted that athletes demonstrate their talent in the best possible way, even under challenging circumstances. Speaking at the “Athlete Recognition and Incentive Ceremony” at TT Nagar Stadium, he praised the inspiration and guidance provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has significantly boosted athletes’ performance. Dr. Yadav distributed ₹25.389 crore in incentives to 1,786 athletes and also presented sports kits.
Sports as Part of Education
Dr. Yadav mentioned that the state government stands firmly behind athletes and sports development. Sports have been integrated into the new education policy, with promotional pathways for sports teachers to become assistant professors and beyond. He assured that incentive funds are being directly transferred to athletes’ bank accounts, facilitating better training and preparation for national and international competitions.
Inspiration from Legends Like Major Dhyan Chand
Reflecting on past achievements, Dr. Yadav noted that even in times of limited resources, Indian athletes like Major Dhyan Chand won gold medals while playing barefoot. Today, under PM Modi’s leadership, India has emerged as a powerful nation, and its athletes are achieving unprecedented success, including four consecutive gold medals in wrestling.

At the event, athletes who excelled in state-level competitions were honored, including:
- Weightlifting: Himanshu Kushwaha
- Mallakhamb: Yuvraj Rao Dhadge
- Handball: Dhruv Dubey and Shruti Pal
- Softball: Tilak Lot
- Judo: Ujjwal Kumar Prasad and Shreya Yadav
- Swimming: Anvi Khanduri
- Taekwondo: Rahi Pathak
- Pencak Silat: Khyati Pandey
Autographed Hockey Stick Gifted to CM
A hockey stick signed by the Paris 2024 Olympic medal-winning hockey team was presented to Dr. Yadav as a memento by Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang.
Sports Complex in Every Constituency
Minister Sarang announced that every assembly constituency would soon have a government-run sports complex, a proposal already approved by CM Dr. Yadav.
