The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has opened a new path to energy self reliance in the rural areas of Jashpur district. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the scheme’s effective implementation is delivering direct benefits to ordinary citizens. Shri Koira Ram, a resident of Champa village in Bagicha development block, stands as a powerful example.
He installed a 2 kW solar panel at his home under the scheme. Koira Ram shares that before this, high monthly electricity bills burdened his household expenses. Now, with the solar panel, his bill has dropped to zero, allowing him to use electricity without worry.
The total installation cost was around Rupees 1.20 lakh, with the government providing a Rupees 90,000 subsidy. The remaining amount was manageable, thanks to timely guidance and support. This has not only boosted his monthly savings but also made him a partner in environmental conservation through clean, green energy. “This scheme is a boon for rural families,” says Koira Ram. “It relieves electricity costs while fostering self reliance.”
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Sai, he adds that their leadership is making lives easier and more empowered for common people.
This initiative exemplifies how targeted government programs can transform rural lives, promoting sustainability and financial freedom one home at a time.
