A 400-Seater Auditorium and Nalanda Campus to be Built in Balod

Raipur, January 8, 2025

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development works worth ₹141 crores today in Balod district’s Jugera village. During the event, the Chief Minister announced the construction of a state-of-the-art 400-seater auditorium and the Nalanda Campus in Balod, which has already been approved.

Dedicated to Quality Development in Atal Nirman Varsh

The Chief Minister said, “In memory of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, we have declared 2025 as Atal Nirman Varsh (Atal Construction Year). This year, we are focusing entirely on quality-driven development works. With the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, and Sabka Vishwas, every citizen must take responsibility for monitoring the development and construction works in their area and contribute to building a developed Chhattisgarh.”

Good Governance for the Marginalized

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to delivering good governance, Chief Minister Sai said, “Our government is focused on improving education, healthcare, irrigation resources, and road maintenance to ensure governance reaches the last mile. The concept of Ram Rajya, as envisioned in our ancient scriptures, represents good governance, and we have taken a significant step toward realizing that vision. This has been possible due to your support and trust, and we are confident it will remain unwavering as we move forward to make Chhattisgarh a developed state.”

Affordable Housing for All

Highlighting the success of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Chief Minister said, “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dreams of a day when no Indian will sleep under the open sky. Under this scheme, over 31,000 families in Balod district have benefited, and more than half of the houses have already been completed, while the rest are under construction. I extend my congratulations and best wishes to the beneficiaries entering their new homes.”

Major Announcements for Balod District

During the event, Chief Minister Sai announced several initiatives, including the construction of a dome set for visitor convenience at the Banjari Mata Temple in Jugera. He praised Veena Sahu, a resident of Jamruwa village in Balod district serving as a Lieutenant Nursing Officer in the Indian Army, and wished her a bright future.

Boosting Farmers’ Prosperity

Chief Minister Sai also highlighted the government’s efforts to support the large number of tendu leaf collectors in the district. The purchase rate for tendu leaves has been increased by ₹1,500 per standard sack, raising it to ₹5,500 per sack.

He announced the launch of canal lining and repair works at the Matiyamoti Reservoir in the Dondi Lohara block, ensuring adequate irrigation water for farmers. This project will cost ₹30 crores.

He further shared that under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, around 1.5 lakh farmers in Balod district benefited, receiving ₹686 crores for the sale of paddy from the 2023-24 Kharif season. An additional ₹223 crores in pending bonus payments was disbursed last year, bringing prosperity to the farmers.

“Our belief is that when our farmers are prosperous, everyone’s life becomes happier,” the Chief Minister said.

No Shortage of Funds for Development

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw assured citizens that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sai and the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, there will be no shortage of funds for development works. Member of Parliament Shri Bhojraj Nag also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the government’s dedication to inclusive growth.

The event was attended by numerous dignitaries and citizens, marking a significant milestone in Balod’s journey toward progress.
