Dedicated Service for Pilgrims to Ensure Hassle-Free Travel
Bhopal: In anticipation of the massive influx of devotees for Kumbh Mela 2025, Indian Railways has announced a special train service connecting Rani Kamlapati (Bhopal) and Ghazipur City. The initiative aims to provide safe, convenient, and comfortable travel for pilgrims journeying to the sacred event. The 01663/01664 Rani Kamlapati-Ghazipur City-Rani Kamlapati Kumbh Mela Special Train will operate for two trips in each direction, making travel more accessible for thousands of passengers.
Train Schedule and Route Details
The Rani Kamlapati-Ghazipur City Kumbh Mela Special (Train No. 01663) will depart from Rani Kamlapati station on February 5 and February 8, 2025, at 3:40 PM. It will pass through key stations, including Obaidullaganj, Narmadapuram, and Itarsi, before reaching Ghazipur City at 11:50 AM the following day.

For the return journey, Train No. 01664 (Ghazipur City-Rani Kamlapati Special) will commence its trip on February 6 and February 9, 2025, departing from Ghazipur City at 1:00 PM. After halting at important junctions along the route, it will arrive at Rani Kamlapati station the next day at 11:40 AM.
The train’s route ensures connectivity through major railway stations such as Pipariya, Bankhedi, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Mirzapur, Varanasi, and Jaunpur Junction. This well-planned itinerary ensures that passengers can board the train from multiple locations, enhancing accessibility.
Coach Configuration and Passenger Amenities
To accommodate the large number of travelers, the Kumbh Mela Special Train will consist of 24 coaches, offering a mix of different classes to suit varying passenger needs. The composition includes 14 Sleeper Class coaches for budget travelers and 8 General Class coaches, ensuring adequate seating for unreserved passengers. Two additional coaches will be attached to manage the anticipated high demand.
To make the journey more comfortable, Indian Railways has ensured that the train is equipped with essential facilities, including proper lighting, clean washrooms, and enhanced security measures. Given the large number of devotees expected to board the train, special arrangements have been made to maintain cleanliness and crowd control at major stations along the route.
Railways Urges Pilgrims to Check Real-Time Updates
Indian Railways has advised all travelers to check real-time train status through the NTES app or the 139 railway inquiry service to avoid any inconvenience.
