The transformation taking place at the Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Jangampal is a powerful example of how accessible healthcare can change rural lives. Located nearly 110 kilometres from the Dantewada district headquarters, the centre has brought essential medical services closer to villagers who once had to travel long distances to Dantewada or Sukma for treatment.
The most encouraging achievement is the safe institutional delivery of 23 women in just three months. This is not merely a statistic. It represents timely medical care, safer motherhood and growing confidence among rural families in the public health system.
The centre now provides free laboratory tests, antenatal checkups, medicines, vaccination, primary treatment and other essential services. Regular monitoring of pregnant women and the early identification of high risk pregnancies can prevent complications and save lives. Such services are especially important in remote and tribal areas, where distance and lack of transport often turn treatable conditions into serious emergencies.
Jangampal shows that healthcare infrastructure is meaningful only when it is supported by trained staff, essential medicines, regular monitoring and community trust. A health centre in a remote location must function consistently, not merely exist on paper.
The success of the centre should encourage similar efforts in other distant villages. If local health facilities are strengthened and institutional deliveries are promoted, the gap between rural and urban healthcare can gradually be reduced. Jangampal has proved that the last village need not remain the last priority.
