Govind Chandrakar transitioned from cultivating paddy, pulses, and oilseeds to rose farming after seeking guidance from the Horticulture Department. Under the National Horticulture Board Scheme, he established a Natural Ventilated Polyhouse on 2.5 acres of land. For the past three years, Govind has utilized drip irrigation technology for rose farming, which not only conserves water but also ensures higher productivity. On his 2.5-acre farm, he produced 9 lakh rose sticks, which he sold in Chhattisgarh and neighboring states, earning an impressive ₹16 lakhs. Govind proudly shares that his net income from roses amounts to ₹4 lakhs per acre annually, with his flowers spreading their fragrance far beyond the state borders.
