The fair price of paddy at ₹3100 per quintal has been a game-changer for farmers in Chhattisgarh, bringing smiles to their faces and financial stability to their families. The story of Suresh Sahu and his wife Mridula, residents of Jamdi village in Patna Tehsil, stands as a shining example of how government policies can transform lives.

A Farmer’s Journey from Struggle to Success

Suresh Sahu, a farmer and vegetable vendor, always dreamed of a better future for his children, hoping to see them become doctors and engineers. However, limited income from farming and vegetable sales made this dream seem distant.

The Chhattisgarh government’s decision to procure paddy at ₹3100 per quintal with a limit of 21 quintals per acre has proven to be a blessing for Suresh’s family. By producing a record paddy yield and selling 85 quintals at the government-mandated price, the family achieved a substantial income.

Investing in Education for a Brighter Future

Suresh and Mridula proudly shared, “This policy has given us new hope. The earnings from our paddy sales are being used for our children’s medical and engineering coaching. We are now confident that our children will achieve their big dreams.”

Building Homes and Securing Futures

For Harbansh Prasad Sahu, another farmer from Jamdi village and father of six children, selling 185 quintals of paddy at the procurement center has brought significant relief. Harbansh plans to utilize the income to build a house, repay loans, and purchase gold and silver for his wife.

Investing in Farming Infrastructure

Similarly, Lal Singh Gond from Murma village, who cultivated paddy on 23 acres of land and sold 300 quintals, shared his plans to use the earnings to improve farm infrastructure and invest in growing other crops.

Government Support: A Catalyst for Change

These stories highlight how Chhattisgarh’s policies have empowered farmers by providing them with economic stability. The farmers express their gratitude, stating, “We thank Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and his government. This is not just an economic reform but a new hope for farmer families like ours.”
