Bhopal, Friday, December 27, 2024: In a heartfelt gesture to support the needy during the winter season, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited night shelters in Bhopal on Friday night. During his visit, he interacted with homeless individuals, laborers, and travelers, inquired about their well-being, and personally distributed blankets to protect them from the cold.

Visits to Shelters and Personal Interactions

Dr. Yadav started his inspection at the Yadgar-e-Shahjahani Park Shelter, where he met individuals such as Shri Karodilal Prajapati, Shri Hashib Khan, Shri Sanju Kushwaha, Shri Ravi Sharma, and differently-abled Shri Pratap Malviya from Patharia, Damoh. The CM discussed their living conditions and assessed the shelter’s facilities. While the shelter residents expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, they mentioned the need for food services.

Responding promptly, Dr. Yadav directed Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh to launch the ‘Ram-Roti’ initiative in all shelters, ensuring free food distribution. On hearing about Pratap Malviya’s struggles as a father of four daughters with no stable livelihood, Dr. Yadav instructed the Collector to provide every possible assistance to him.

Inspection of Railway Platform Shelter

The Chief Minister then visited the night shelter near Platform No. 6 at the Bhopal Railway Station. He inspected the facilities and distributed blankets to the poor and homeless staying there. He spoke with individuals like Shri Vishal Malviya, Shri Shankar Malviya, Shri Omraj, Shri Ashish Tiwari, and differently-abled Shri Vijay Aina (Gunawa), understanding their reasons for seeking shelter. Most of them were travelers awaiting onward journeys.

The women, who were vegetable vendors, shared that they had no place to stay and planned to sleep outdoors. Moved by their plight, the Chief Minister distributed blankets to them and instructed the Collector to ensure proper arrangements for their safety and shelter.

Government Commitment to Welfare

During his interactions, Dr. Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the underprivileged and ensuring that no one is left out of welfare schemes. He stated, “The welfare of the poor and women is a priority for our government. No one will be left helpless. Under the Garib Kalyan Mission, we will take every step to empower the weaker sections of society.”

He also highlighted that ensuring relief during the harsh winter months is the government’s primary focus, promising that no one should have to endure the cold without protection. Residents at the shelters expressed their gratitude for the Chief Minister’s thoughtful and compassionate initiative.
