Bhopal, October 31, 2024, As part of the Govardhan Puja preparations, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav conducted a traditional puja and decorated the cattle at his official residence. Govardhan Puja, a ritual symbolizing agricultural prosperity, emphasizes the cultural and spiritual importance of cattle in Hindu traditions.
The cows at the Chief Minister’s residence come from prominent breeds found across India, including Gir, Sahiwal, Punganur, Malvi, and Tharparkar, showcasing a rich diversity of indigenous cattle.
Dr. Yadav has directed all state gaushalas to hold celebrations on Govardhan Puja, enhancing spiritual and cultural awareness about cow protection. As part of the state’s ongoing ‘Year of Cattle Protection’ campaign, gaushalas in every district will host these events on November 2, with ministers and local representatives also participating in the festivities.
