Incentives for Olympic Medalists
The Chhattisgarh government is firmly dedicated to promoting sports talent across the state. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai announced that athletes from Chhattisgarh who win gold, silver, and bronze medals at the Olympics will be awarded ₹3 crore, ₹2 crore, and ₹1 crore respectively as incentives.

Sports Symbolize Unity, Discipline, and Dedication
Addressing the closing ceremony of the CM Trophy India International Challenge Badminton Tournament 2024 in Raipur on November 17, Chief Minister Sai emphasized the government’s efforts in providing world-class facilities and infrastructure for athletes. Government Support for Grassroots Talent
Highlighting the state’s initiatives, CM Sai shared his recent interaction with Ritika Dhruv, a badminton player from Dhamtari. Despite financial challenges, Ritika has achieved significant milestones in her sport. The Chief Minister reassured her of full government support in her journey to greater heights.

He also mentioned Nisha, a young mountaineer aspiring to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mount Everest. Coming from a humble background, Nisha’s dream seemed out of reach due to financial constraints. The government stepped in, approving financial aid of ₹3.75 lakh to support her aspirations.

Boosting Badminton and Other Sports in the State
Reaffirming his commitment to sports, CM Sai announced plans to enhance facilities and training opportunities for badminton players in the state. He congratulated Men’s Doubles winners Hariharan and Ruban Kumar and extended his appreciation to all participants and organizers of the CM Trophy 2024.

The Chief Minister also welcomed international players and their teams, expressing gratitude for their participation in Chhattisgarh.

Recognition of Sports Associations
The event was graced by key members of the Chhattisgarh Badminton Association, including President Vikram Sisodia and General Secretary Sanjay Mishra. The presence of players and sports enthusiasts in large numbers underscored the growing interest in sports across the state.

A Strong Step Toward Empowering Athletes

Chhattisgarh’s proactive approach to fostering talent, providing financial support, and improving infrastructure demonstrates a vision of creating a robust sports ecosystem that motivates young athletes to excel on national and international stages.
