Bhopal, Wednesday, November 13, 2024: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav praised the courage and resilience of Mrs. Bhujlo Bai, a resident of Khakra Chaurai village in Chhindwara district, who bravely fought off a wolf attack. He spoke to Mrs. Bhujlo Bai through a video call to check on her health and granted her ₹1 lakh from the Chief Minister’s discretionary fund. Dr. Yadav expressed admiration for her bravery, calling it an inspiration.
The Chief Minister also instructed the Chhindwara Collector to ensure her proper medical treatment and, if necessary, to arrange for her to be airlifted to Bhopal for further care. He assured Mrs. Bhujlo Bai’s family that all medical expenses would be covered by the government and prayed for her speedy recovery. Before his departure for Kota, Dr. Yadav took time at the Chief Minister’s residence to speak with her and offer support.
**The Brave Incident**
The incident occurred on Friday morning near Khakra Chaurai village in Chhindwara’s Amarwara range, where 65-year-old Bhujlo Bai and 55-year-old Durgabai were guarding crops. While they were sleeping in the field, a wolf attacked Bhujlo Bai, biting her thumb. Hearing her cries, Durgabai rushed to help. Despite injuries to her hand and head, Bhujlo Bai managed to fend off the wolf by striking it with a nearby spade, ultimately killing the animal. Both women sustained injuries and were admitted to Chhindwara District Hospital.
The Chief Minister’s office reported that Durgabai, having recovered, has since been discharged from the hospital.
