Deoli-Uniara Region, Tonk – Following the “Samrawata slap incident” during the election, police have arrested the main accused, Naresh Meena, along with 60 others involved in violent protests and arson. Tonk Police, under the leadership of Inspector General (IG) Omprakash, formed 28 teams to apprehend the suspects after the unrest on Wednesday night.

The incident began during voting when independent candidate Naresh Meena allegedly slapped Duty Magistrate and SDM Amit Choudhary, prompting chaos in the area. After Naresh Meena’s arrest, his supporters clashed with police, throwing stones and setting fire to vehicles, including two government and seven private four-wheelers, and approximately 25 motorcycles. More than a dozen police personnel were injured during the violence.

IG Omprakash condemned the disruption, stating that legal action will be taken against those compromising law and order. He appealed to the youth to avoid spreading misinformation on social media and refrain from engaging in lawless behavior.

In response to these events, IG Omprakash, along with other senior officials, visited the affected areas on Thursday, overseeing the situation and ensuring peace was restored. He emphasized that public cooperation with law enforcement is crucial for maintaining order and preventing further violence. Additionally, the police urged the public to be cautious about forwarding unverified information on social media, as strict actions will be taken against those spreading rumors.

The investigation is ongoing, with police continuing their search for remaining suspects involved in the incident.
