Bhopal: Thursday, November 14, 2024: Governor Mangubhai Patel emphasized the significance of instilling energy conservation values in children from a young age, saying, “Saving energy is equivalent to producing energy.” He spoke at the award ceremony of a state-level painting competition focused on energy conservation, held under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, at Subhash Bhawan in Bhopal.
Governor Patel awarded prizes to participants of the competition, which was conducted in two categories, and extended his congratulations and best wishes to the winners selected for the national-level competition. He also honored the competition’s jury members and commended NHDC for consistently organizing this competition over the past 19 years to raise awareness about energy conservation.
He praised the creativity and imagination reflected in the children’s artwork, noting it as an expression of their inner consciousness about energy conservation. He urged the attendees to visit the exhibition and appreciate the children’s artistic expressions. Addressing the young participants, Governor Patel encouraged them to keep alive the feelings of energy conservation that inspired their artwork and to practice these principles throughout their lives.
Governor Patel highlighted the value of natural resources like energy and water, which should be used responsibly and wisely. He urged everyone to empathize with communities facing resource scarcity and adopt judicious use of energy, water, and other natural resources. He advised the children to develop good habits around conservation.
**Four Health Mantras for Children: Exercise, Nutritious Diet, Water, and Sleep**
Governor Patel shared four health tips with the children to help them grow strong and healthy: regular exercise, a nutritious diet avoiding fast food, sufficient water intake, and adequate sleep.
The ceremony began with a lamp-lighting ritual and a warm welcome to Governor Patel, who was presented with a plant, a shawl, and a memento. NHDC Managing Director Rajeev Jain delivered the welcome address, providing details of the state-level competition. Ashok Kumar, General Manager of Human Resources, expressed gratitude to all attendees. The event was attended by NHDC officials, jury members, young participants, and their families.
