Bhopal: Friday, November 8, 2024, The Madhya Pradesh government remains dedicated to comprehensive healthcare improvements across the state, with a particular focus on maternal and child health. An inspiring example of these efforts is Prashant, a severely malnourished child who achieved full recovery through medical support, a balanced diet, and expert consultation at the NRC ward.
Prashant, the son of Shri Dharmendra and Smt. Kamalabai, residents of Gambeeria village in the Gyaraspur block of Vidisha district, weighed only 4.83 kilograms upon admission to the NRC ward. After receiving special care and balanced nutrition, his weight increased to 5.54 kilograms. Overjoyed with Prashant’s improved health, his parents expressed gratitude to the medical team.
Initially, Prashant’s parents were reluctant to admit him to the NRC ward. However, combined efforts by Block Medical Officer Dr. T.S. Meena and the local SDM helped persuade them. After a thorough medical examination, Prashant was admitted to the NRC ward, where he received specialized nutrition and treatment under the guidance of NRC In-charge Dr. Ved Prakash and NRC FD Smt. Leela Ahirwar. Prashant’s mother was also educated on personal hygiene and the importance of a balanced diet, contributing to her son’s steady recovery. Prashant was discharged from the NRC ward on October 28, 2024, after being declared fully healthy.
This success story highlights the positive impact of the state’s healthcare initiatives aimed at improving child health and reducing malnutrition.
