The Seva Setu portal marks an important step toward transparent, fast and citizen friendly governance in Chhattisgarh. By making 441 government services available online, the initiative has reduced the need for citizens to visit government offices repeatedly and has brought essential services closer to their homes.

The expansion from 86 services on the earlier e District portal to 441 services reflects a significant improvement in public administration. Citizens can now apply for caste, income and residence certificates, ration cards, marriage certificates, social security pensions, revenue services and name change notifications through a single digital platform.

The greatest benefit will reach people living in rural and remote areas. Online applications, application tracking and fixed time limits can save citizens both time and money. More importantly, a transparent process reduces dependence on intermediaries and helps control delays and corruption.

However, the success of Seva Setu will depend on reliable internet access, public awareness and support for citizens who are not familiar with digital services. Service centres must continue to assist people who may not be able to apply online independently.

If implemented with consistency and accountability, Seva Setu can become a strong model of digital governance. It represents a shift from office based administration to doorstep service delivery and shows that technology can make governance more accessible, transparent and responsive.
