New Delhi, November 25, 2024:During his official visit to Italy, S. Jaishankar (External Affairs Minister) inaugurated the new premises of the Indian Embassy in Rome. Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), S. Jaishankar expressed his joy, stating:

“Delighted to inaugurate the new chancery of the Indian Embassy in Rome today. It reflects the continued expansion of the India-Italy partnership in recent years and will help us better serve the Indian community in Italy.”


A Step Towards Stronger India-Italy Relations

The new embassy office symbolizes the growing India-Italy relationship, particularly in light of the increasing engagement between the two nations in various sectors. The upgraded infrastructure will also facilitate improved services for the Indian diaspora in Italy.


Participation in Key International Forums

S. Jaishankar’s three-day visit to Italy includes participation in two significant events:

  • Mediterranean Dialogue (MED) 2024: Organized by the International Institute for Political Studies (ISPI), Jaishankar will join the 10th edition of this global conference, focusing on Mediterranean and international political issues.
  • G7 Outreach Meeting: India has been invited as a “guest country” to this outreach meeting of G7 Foreign Ministers, showcasing its growing global influence.

Strengthening Diplomatic and Global Presence

With this visit, India continues to expand its diplomatic footprint and foster stronger international collaborations. The inauguration of the embassy’s new office aligns with this mission, reflecting India’s commitment to enhancing its global partnerships and serving its citizens abroad.
