Offers Worship at Maa Narmada and Performs Jalabhishek at Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav attended the ‘Amrutsya Maa Narmada Pad Parikrama’ program at Brahmpuri Ghat in Omkareshwar on Sunday. He performed a special puja for Maa Narmada and expressed his commitment to developing a grand Jyotirlinga temple in Omkareshwar.

CM Dr. Yadav announced that after March, liquor shops at designated pilgrimage sites would be closed. Emphasizing the significance of water, he stated that just as blood circulates through the human body, rivers flow across the earth, making their preservation essential.

Government’s Vision for Narmada Parikrama

CM Dr. Yadav reaffirmed the government’s determination to restore the Narmada Parikrama Path with sanctity and in its original form. He assured that facilities for pilgrims would be enhanced, ghats would be constructed along the Narmada banks, and signage boards would be installed for pilgrims’ convenience.

Highlighting Madhya Pradesh as the land of rivers, he emphasized the unique importance of Maa Narmada and the government’s commitment to promoting religious tourism. Additionally, he reiterated the government’s dedication to cleanliness and sustainable development.

Encouragement for Organic Farming and Dairy Development

The Chief Minister cautioned against chemical-based farming, highlighting its adverse health effects. He announced a campaign promoting organic and natural farming while assuring incentives for organic farmers.

Dr. Yadav also stressed the need to increase milk production by encouraging cow rearing, which would not only boost dairy farming but also enhance farmers’ income.

Promotion of Tribal Festivals and Cultural Heritage

He further stated that tribal festivals would be officially celebrated by the government, recognizing the rich cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh.

Spiritual Engagement at Omkareshwar

During his visit, CM Dr. Yadav performed Jalabhishek at Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the state. He walked across the pedestrian bridge to reach the temple and was welcomed by trustee Shri Rao Devendra Singh Chauhan and other temple representatives, who presented him with a replica of Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga as a token of respect.

In a gesture of community bonding, CM Dr. Yadav distributed fruit baskets to young girls and Brahmin boys (Batuks) and shared a meal with them.

Prominent Personalities in Attendance

The event was graced by several revered spiritual leaders, including Shraddhey Gurudev Vivek Ji, Mahant Mangaldas Ji Tyagi (Jod Ganpati Hanuman Mandir, Omkareshwar), Mahant Kailash Bharti (Mahanirvani Akhara, Omkareshwar), Mahant Pranavanand Ji Saraswati (Markandeya Sannyas Ashram, Omkareshwar), and Pujya Shri Brahmachari Ji Maharaj (Nijanand Dham, Khachrod).

Several political leaders and officials, including Khandwa MLA Smt. Kanchan Tanve, Pandhana MLA Smt. Chhaya More, Mandhata MLA Shri Narayan Patel, and other dignitaries, were also present at the event.
