CANON TIMES Bhopal | Sunday, March 9, 2025, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that during the inauguration of GIS Bhopal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the increasing registration of electric vehicles (EVs) in Madhya Pradesh, showcasing the state’s growing acceptance of the EV revolution and its vast investment potential. Madhya Pradesh is emerging not only as a manufacturing hub in the automobile and EV sector but also as a center for innovation and research. The government is providing every possible facility to investors, significantly boosting the electric vehicle and automobile industry in the state. Speaking at the Global Investors Summit (GIS) in Bhopal, CM Dr. Yadav reaffirmed his commitment to making Madhya Pradesh a leading state in this sector.
New Dimensions in EV and Automobile Development in the State
The GIS-Bhopal summit saw the participation of leading domestic and international automobile and EV companies. Currently, over 30 Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) companies are operating in the state, along with 200+ component manufacturers. Madhya Pradesh ranks among the top states in commercial vehicle production and is the second-largest producer of buses and tractors in India.

At the GIS-Bhopal summit, Hindustan Electro-Graphite (HEG) signed an investment agreement worth ₹1,800 crore for a graphite anode manufacturing plant in Dewas. This plant will help reduce EV battery costs, providing a major boost to the EV industry.
Pithampur: The ‘Detroit of India’
The Pithampur Auto Cluster in Madhya Pradesh, spread over 4,500 hectares, has become one of the largest automobile hubs in India. Major automobile giants like Force Motors, Eicher Motors, Avtec Motors, and Kinetic Motors operate here, along with 60+ auto component manufacturers. The NATRAX high-speed testing track in Pithampur, spanning 11 km, is Asia’s longest track and provides cutting-edge vehicle testing facilities, making it globally competitive.
MP Mobility Expo 2025: Innovation and Investment Hub
The MP Mobility Expo 2025, organized during the GIS summit, attracted industry leaders like Bridgestone, ZF Steering, Motherson Gabriel, and Anand Industries. The expo’s Super Car and Super Bike Exhibition was a major attraction. Several startups showcased innovative technologies, promoting technological advancements in the state.
EV and Sustainable Mobility: A Step Towards the Future
Madhya Pradesh is rapidly attracting investments in EV battery manufacturing, charging infrastructure, and hydrogen fuel innovation. The state government is implementing special policies to promote clean and sustainable automobile production.
Investor Enthusiasm in the Automobile and EV Sector
To encourage automobile investments, the Madhya Pradesh government is offering tax incentives, fast-track approvals, and world-class logistics infrastructure. In FY 2023-24, the automobile and component sector in the state recorded exports worth $19.2 million, generating revenue and thousands of employment opportunities.

Key players in the automobile and EV sector participated in GIS-Bhopal, including Bridgestone, ZF Steering, Badve Engineering, Motherson Gabriel, Pistol Dewas, Anand Industries, Jhalani Engineers, SD Axle Pvt. Ltd., Jagatjit Engineering Pvt. Ltd., TAFE Motors & Tractors Ltd., VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., and Pinnacle Industries.
CM Dr. Yadav emphasized that the expansion of EV mobility in Madhya Pradesh will reduce carbon emissions and promote an eco-friendly transportation policy. This will not only drive economic prosperity but also establish Madhya Pradesh as a leader in green energy and sustainable development.
