Security Forces Share Success Stories and Challenges of Anti-Naxal Operations

Raipur, November, 2024: During his visit to Bastar’s Sedwa CRPF camp, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai met with members of the Bastariya Battalion, who shared their experiences in combating Naxalism. One of the highlights was an inspiring conversation with a woman constable who expressed her pride in serving as part of the security forces and contributing to anti-Naxal operations.

She said, “It fills me with pride when young people from my village tell me they want to be like me. I encourage more youth from Bastar to join the security forces and serve the nation. Being part of this team and contributing to critical operations has been a source of immense pride for me.”

Empowering Women in Security Forces

The Chief Minister commended the courage and dedication of the women personnel, emphasizing their critical role in counter-Naxal operations. “The bravery and determination of Bastar’s daughters are unmatched. They have been working in the toughest conditions and achieving incredible success,” he said.

The woman constable’s story is a testament to the growing participation of women in the security forces, serving as role models for the younger generation.

Tales of Bravery: Success Amidst Challenges

The CRPF personnel shared their experiences of working in some of the most challenging terrains, such as the Abujhmad region. They spoke about their determination to eradicate Naxalism while navigating difficult conditions.

They also recounted a critical operation during the establishment of a camp in Tekalgudem, where security forces encountered fierce resistance from Naxals. Despite casualties and injuries, the team successfully established the camp, forcing the Naxals to retreat from the village.

Tackling Challenges in Sensitive Areas

The security forces highlighted the extreme challenges they face in sensitive and high-risk areas, such as landmines planted by Naxals that endanger civilians, including children. They shared their approach to ensuring the safety of injured personnel during operations, including life support systems, medical evacuation, and airlifting to advanced medical facilities.

The Chief Minister praised their teamwork and preparedness, which he credited as key to their success in operations.

CM Sai’s Encouragement and Support

In his remarks, CM Vishnudev Sai expressed his gratitude and admiration for the tireless efforts of the security personnel. He stated, “The fight against Naxalism has seen significant success due to the collective efforts of our police, CRPF, and other battalions, supported by local governance. Your dedication and courage are exemplary, not just for Chhattisgarh but for the entire nation.”

The Chief Minister called Naxalism a “threat to humanity”, condemning the use of landmines that often harm innocent civilians. He assured the security forces of the state government’s continued support and lauded their progress in eradicating Naxalism, even in remote areas like Abujhmad.

A Model of Coordination

CM Sai also highlighted the coordination and organization among security forces as a shining example for the nation. He emphasized that the collaborative efforts of multiple teams, along with local departments, have played a pivotal role in achieving milestones in the fight against Naxalism.

As the Chief Minister concluded his visit, he expressed hope that the sustained efforts of the security forces would lead to a Naxal-free Chhattisgarh, ensuring peace and prosperity for the state.
