Currently, water is supplied to Nava Raipur from the Thanaud Tila Anicut, which is fed by the Ravi Shankar Reservoir. During summer, when water levels drop, an open canal transports water from Kodapar to Thanaud—a process that spans 25 kilometers and leads to significant water loss due to evaporation and seepage.
The new pipeline will replace the open canal, ensuring the efficient and loss-free transportation of water. This initiative will not only preserve the actual water capacity but will also provide a sustainable solution to the city’s water demands for decades to come.
