Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai: Acharya Ji’s Teachings are a Guiding Light for Generations
Raipur, February 6, 2025 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Acharya Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj’s Samadhi Memorial at Dongargarh’s Chandragiri Tirth, emphasized that our culture is our identity. He stated that if we lose our culture, we lose our identity on the world stage. He praised Acharya Ji for transcending sectarianism, linguistic divides, and casteism, and for spreading the message of humanity and universal brotherhood.
The event was presided over by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, who reiterated that Acharya Ji’s teachings serve as a beacon of light, guiding future generations toward righteousness.

Jain Acharyas’ Contribution to National Unity
Amit Shah acknowledged the immense contribution of Jain Acharyas and monks in uniting India. He highlighted how they traveled on foot across the country—from Hastinapur in Uttar Pradesh to Shravanabelagola in Karnataka and from Rajgir in Bihar to Girnar in Gujarat—spreading the light of knowledge, self-discipline, and renunciation.
He likened Acharya Vidyasagar Ji to the Kalpavriksha (wish-fulfilling tree), whose sacrifices and penance continue to inspire the nation. Shah commended the decision to construct a grand Samadhi Memorial at the site and extended his appreciation to all involved in the initiative.

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai noted that while Acharya Ji is no longer physically present, his teachings will continue to illuminate the righteous path for generations. He lauded Acharya Ji’s unparalleled self-discipline, his long pilgrimages on foot for the cause of Dharma, and his deep commitment to the Swadeshi movement.
Sai also expressed gratitude to Acharya Samta Sagar Ji Maharaj and the Jain monks from across the country, wishing that Chhattisgarh continues to receive their divine blessings.
