Bhopal, 6 November, 2023 – Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, addressed the media today, shedding light on how Congress leaders in all Congress-ruled states have manipulated their promises and guarantees, exploiting and misappropriating funds meant for development. He urged the people of Madhya Pradesh to be vigilant during the upcoming elections, focusing on genuine development rather than falling for the Congress party’s empty guarantees.
Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar highlighted how the Congress party deceived the people of Karnataka through their “five guarantees” pitch made ahead of the elections.
“During the Karnataka elections, the Congress made grand and false promises, particularly the ‘5 guarantees’ for youth and women. They promised jobs for the youth and a Rs 3000 allowance for unemployed youths. After the elections, Congress altered this promise, stating that only those who graduated in the previous year would receive the money. The rest of the unemployed youth, to whom the initial promise was made, were left empty-handed. Similar claims were made for free electricity for all women in Karnataka and ration distribution, but none of these promises benefited the people,” the Minister explained.
Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar emphasized the correlation between these guarantees and their corruption. He said, “Congress and corruption go hand in hand, and this is common knowledge. In the past four months, investigating agencies recovered Rs 109 crore rupees from just one contractor in Karnataka. The government of CM Siddaramaiah and DY CM DK Shivakumar in the state was built on guarantees that they failed to fulfill. Their one objective was to make sure that Karnataka becomes their ATM, they have already begun that campaign. We in the BJP had predicted that Karnataka would become an ATM, and our prediction has been proven right. The loot in the state has become evident.”
The Minister also pointed out the case on the illegal betting app, Mahadev Book, which was blocked by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology following requests from the Enforcement Directorate. The ED was investigating a network of online betting apps in Chhattisgarh.
“Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel was exposed for receiving Rs 508 crore via courier from a criminal involved in illegal online betting. The CM was caught accepting funds from these criminals for election purposes. As for Congress leader Kamalnath, he accepts funds from dubious and shady international sources. Thus, we have CM Siddaramaiah associated with corrupt contractors, CM Bhupesh Baghel accepting funds from criminals, and Congress leader Kamalnath linked to dubious international entities. Even in Rajasthan, we’ve witnessed CM Ashok Gehlot coming under the scrutiny of the ED and facing investigations. The Congress party follows a political strategy in which they make promises to the public before elections, with their primary aim being to exploit the state for the benefit of their own families,” the Minister further highlighted.
Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar urged the people of Madhya Pradesh to see through the Congress party’s tactics and prevent their state from becoming an ATM for the Congress.
“I strongly urge the voters in MP not to fall for these false guarantees and promises. Amidst all of this, there’s just one guarantee that matters – PM Narendra Modi ji’s guarantee of development, building skills, and education for the youth. The direct link between these guarantees and corruption is evident in the intentions and actions of all four CMs. MP should not serve as an ATM state for the Congress,” the Minister further added.
