Narayanpur, December 2, 2024The Mahatari Vandan Yojana, launched under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, is transforming the lives of women across Chhattisgarh by promoting economic empowerment and improving health and nutrition. This initiative provides a monthly financial aid of ₹1,000 to eligible married, widowed, and deserted women, aiming to eliminate societal discrimination, uplift women’s health, and ensure financial self-reliance.

A Message of Joy: Sumitra Dugga’s Experience

Sumitra Dugga, a resident of Binjli village in Narayanpur district, exemplifies the impact of this scheme. As a daily wage laborer, Sumitra struggled to make ends meet, especially to fund her children’s education.

“Before, it was challenging to manage household expenses and support my children’s studies. But since the Mahatari Vandan Yojana began, my life has changed for the better,” she shared.

Through the scheme, Sumitra receives ₹1,000 monthly, which she uses to purchase her children’s school supplies, including books, notebooks, and uniforms. The financial assistance also helps her manage essential household expenses, providing relief from constant financial stress.

“This scheme is a blessing for my family and me. It has not only eased my struggles but also secured a brighter future for my children,” she said, expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for implementing such a transformative initiative.

Widespread Impact of Mahatari Vandan Yojana

As of now, over 27,000 women in Narayanpur district have benefited from the scheme, with a total disbursement of more than ₹22.69 crore. Additionally, 3,687 women from special backward tribal communities have received aid under this program.

The Mahatari Vandan Yojana is making significant strides across Chhattisgarh, empowering women who previously faced severe economic and social challenges.

A Path Toward Economic Empowerment and Social Equality

This initiative represents a critical step toward creating a more equitable society. By addressing both financial and social barriers, the Mahatari Vandan Yojana empowers women to become active contributors to their families’ and communities’ growth.

The scheme is not only enhancing financial stability but also fostering hope and self-reliance among women, marking a significant milestone in Chhattisgarh’s journey toward inclusive development.
