Bhopal, Wednesday, March 5, 2025: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that GIS-Bhopal has played a crucial role in shaping Madhya Pradesh as a global startup hub. Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for industrial development and job creation, the state is moving rapidly toward fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities. He emphasized that the government is creating a strong startup ecosystem, ensuring young entrepreneurs get the support and resources needed to transform their ideas into successful ventures.
GIS-Bhopal Brings Madhya Pradesh into the Global Startup Arena
The startup landscape in Madhya Pradesh is witnessing remarkable growth. The presence of over 20 unicorn founders at GIS-Bhopal reflects the state’s growing reputation in India’s entrepreneurial space.
The ‘Future Frontier: Startup Pitching’ session at GIS-Bhopal became a platform for 180 registered startups, of which 25 high-potential ventures showcased their business ideas. These startups received valuable guidance, mentorship, and investment opportunities. In total, 47 startups participated, and 19 received Expressions of Interest (EOI) from investors, paving the way for future collaborations and funding.

Strong Investor Interest in Madhya Pradesh’s Startups
The growing confidence of investors in the state’s startup ecosystem was evident, with several venture capital firms and incubators showing keen interest. Leading investment firms including IICE, SGSITS, Silver Needle Ventures, ITI Growth, EZSeed, C-Fund, Venture Catalysts, VASPL Initiatives, AISE-RNTU, and Equanimity Investments identified promising startups for potential funding and collaboration.
State Government’s Financial Support for Startups
To accelerate the growth of startups, the Madhya Pradesh government is providing financial assistance and incentives. Special provisions have been made for women entrepreneurs and SC/ST-led startups, offering them higher investment support. Eligible startups can receive up to ₹18 lakh in financial aid, along with rental reimbursements, incubation grants, and assistance for patent filing. These incentives aim to create a robust entrepreneurial environment, reducing financial barriers for young business owners.
Women Entrepreneurs Driving Madhya Pradesh’s Startup Success
Madhya Pradesh’s startup ecosystem has seen strong participation from women entrepreneurs, with 44% of the 4,900 registered startups being led by women. The government aims to further expand this ecosystem by doubling the number of registered startups and boosting agriculture and food-based startups by 200%. To support these efforts, 72 incubators are currently operational, focusing on providing strategic mentorship and infrastructure support.

With its progressive startup policy and strong government backing, Madhya Pradesh is positioning itself as a leading startup destination in India. The incentives, infrastructure, and policy-driven support ensure that the state remains a preferred hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. GIS-Bhopal’s success has further solidified the state’s reputation in the global startup ecosystem, opening doors for new investments, partnerships, and international recognition.
