Bhopal, April 5, 2025: In a landmark development aimed at enhancing passenger amenities, Madhya Pradesh’s first Pod Concept Retiring Room was officially inaugurated today at Platform No. 6 of Bhopal Railway Station. The state-of-the-art facility was launched by Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Bhopal, Shri Alok Sharma.

According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Saurabh Kataria, the initiative is designed to cater to the rest and accommodation needs of nearly 70,000 passengers who pass through the station every day. Operated by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the pod-style hotel offers a compact, yet premium resting solution to travelers looking for short-stay comfort without burning a hole in their pockets.

A Pod Hotel is a modern accommodation concept featuring compact, capsule-like cabins that provide travelers with private resting spaces. These pods are equipped with air conditioning, bedding, personal lockers, charging points, high-speed Wi-Fi, entertainment systems (TV), makeup mirrors, and other essentials—ensuring both comfort and security.
