CM Dr. Yadav Highlights State’s Achievements Before Cabinet Meeting
Historic Initiatives in Wildlife Tourism and Agricultural Welfare

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that Mahashivratri will be celebrated on February 26 at a grand scale across Madhya Pradesh, with elaborate decorations at temples and various events planned. Similarly, Gudi Padwa, falling on March 30, will also witness large-scale celebrations. The Vikramotsav will commence on Mahashivratri, and the Jal Ganga Campaign will be relaunched this year, running alongside the Watershed Program to create long-term impact.
Addressing the ministers before the Cabinet meeting, CM Dr. Yadav congratulated them on the state’s recent achievements and shared details about key initiatives.
Key Highlights from the CM’s Address
1. Promoting Wildlife Tourism
- On February 17, CM Dr. Yadav visited the Gharial Sanctuary near Chambal River and released 10 gharials into the river.
- He emphasized the state’s focus on promoting wildlife tourism and highlighted that Chambal hosts the largest population of gharials in the country.
- New facilities are being introduced to attract more tourists to this sanctuary, marking it as a significant hub for eco-tourism.
2. Agricultural Welfare and Upcoming Decisions
- The government is working on several farmer-friendly policies, including:
- Increasing minimum support prices (MSP) for paddy and other crops.
- Providing per-hectare incentives to farmers for certain crops.
- CM Dr. Yadav assured that new measures aimed at improving farmers’ welfare will be announced soon.
3. Third Major River Linking Project
- After the success of the Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal river linking projects, Madhya Pradesh is gearing up for its third major project—the Tapti Mega Recharge Project.
- This innovative project will not only enhance irrigation in Khandwa and Burhanpur districts by covering over 1.25 lakh hectares but also contribute to groundwater recharge, setting an example for the entire nation.
- Collaboration with Maharashtra is underway, and the central government is providing guidance and support.
4. New Industrial Policies to Boost Investment
- The state is introducing simplified industrial policies to attract investors and promote ease of doing business, in line with PM Modi’s vision of reducing barriers for industries.
- These policies aim to increase investment and create more employment opportunities across Madhya Pradesh.
5. Achievements in Sports
- Madhya Pradesh secured third place in the recently concluded National Games in Uttarakhand, with 82 medals (34 gold, 25 silver, and 23 bronze).
- CM Dr. Yadav attributed this success to the state’s initiatives for developing sports infrastructure and providing better facilities for athletes.
- He congratulated the athletes, ministers, and all citizens on this proud achievement.
Cabinet Discussions and Celebrations
The CM also discussed development plans such as the Basti Vikas Yojana and effective use of public relations funds with the ministers. The Cabinet meeting began with the collective singing of the national song, Vande Mataram.
With these initiatives, Madhya Pradesh is setting new benchmarks in governance, tourism, agriculture, and sports.
