Bhopal, November 25, 2024,Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the evolving nature of India-UK relations, highlighting a shift towards technology, innovation, and knowledge partnerships during a luncheon meeting with British MPs on his visit to London.


CM Yadav’s UK Visit: Strengthening Historical Ties

On Monday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited the British Parliament and engaged in discussions over lunch with prominent British MPs, including Baroness Verma, Bob Blackman, Lord Kulveer Singh Ranger, Virendra Sharma, and Barry Gardiner.

Reflecting on the historical and future significance of India-UK relations, Dr. Yadav quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “This partnership is deeply rooted in history and holds immense potential for the future.” He thanked the British MPs for their hospitality and for making time to foster this dialogue.


Focus on Innovation and Knowledge Partnerships

During the discussions, Dr. Yadav reiterated PM Modi’s vision, describing the India-UK partnership as a “Living Bridge” built on shared democratic values and cultural heritage. He emphasized that the partnership is now focused on technology, innovation, and knowledge sharing.

Dr. Yadav shared insights about Madhya Pradesh’s role in India’s growth story:

  • Economic Growth: The state’s economy is witnessing double-digit growth.
  • Investment Opportunities: Madhya Pradesh offers immense potential in agri-business, automobile and auto-components, pharmaceuticals, and the IT sector.

He also invited the British MPs to attend the Global Investors Summit scheduled in February 2025 in Bhopal, emphasizing that such initiatives aim to create new avenues for collaboration and investment.


A Historic New Beginning

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed optimism that his discussions with the British MPs would mark the beginning of a new chapter in India-UK relations. He underscored the importance of such engagements in creating pathways for innovation-led growth, strengthening ties between the two nations, and positioning Madhya Pradesh as a central hub in India’s developmental journey.

The visit reflects Madhya Pradesh’s ambition to leverage international partnerships to enhance its global profile and attract investments in key growth sectors.
