New Era of Tourism in Chambal Region: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav
CANON TIMES Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav today announced a historic initiative aimed at wildlife conservation and tourism development. He revealed that female cheetah ‘Gamini’ brought from South Africa, along with her four cubs, has been released from the enclosure to roam freely in the natural habitat of Kuno National Park, Sheopur. This step marks a significant milestone not only in wildlife conservation but also in promoting tourism in the region.

A Historic Project for Asia
Dr. Yadav emphasized that the rehabilitation of cheetahs brought from South Africa is a vital project not just for Madhya Pradesh but for the entire Asian continent. He highlighted that the selection of Kuno (Sheopur) for this intercontinental project is a matter of pride for the state. The successful execution of this ambitious project is credited to the dedication and hard work of the state’s Forest Department.
New Opportunities for Tourism and Employment
The Chief Minister expressed optimism that the growing number of cheetahs in Kuno will boost tourism activities, generate new employment opportunities, and strengthen the economy of the Chambal region. He added that the state government is consistently working towards making the Chambal region more attractive for tourism.
Dr. Mohan Yadav also stated that this initiative will not only aid in conserving the state’s biodiversity but also contribute to raising environmental awareness and developing the tourism sector.
