At the grand inauguration of the three day Advanced Agriculture Festival 2026 in Raisen’s Dashhara Maidan, Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh encapsulated a timeless truth (soldiers guard the nation’s borders, while farmers nurture its lifeblood in the fields). Declaring farmers the backbone of India’s economy, the Minister, a proud farmer’s son, reaffirmed the government’s unwavering pledge to their upliftment. Amidst the luminaries including Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, this event transcended a mere expo. It symbolized a holistic crusade for rural prosperity, blending policy, innovation, and inspiration.

The Minister lauded flagship initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN), channeling 6,000 Rupees annually directly into farmer’s accounts for seeds, fertilizers, and essentials. This stands as a testament to honoring their toil with thousands of crores disbursed. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana shields against natural calamities, while Soil Health Cards optimize inputs, slashing costs. Defence Ministry’s innovation shines (procuring organic produce) from farmers near cantonments has boosted their incomes, enhanced soldier’s health, and embodied Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s strides. Foodgrain exports doubled, Raisen exporting Basmati rice to 47 countries, wheat procured at 2,625 Rupees per quintal plus 40 Rupees bonus, and irrigated land surging from 7.5 lakh to 55 lakh hectares, eyeing one crore hectares under mission mode. Declaring 2026 as Farmer’s Welfare Year, the state fuses agriculture with industry for self reliance.

Union Agriculture Minister Chouhan hailed the festival as a “school for farmers”, launching the Soil Mobile App eForm for self testing soil health, alongside benefits under stubble management and custom hiring schemes. With 20 sessions on integrated farming, promising 2 lakh Rupees per acre, from seeds to markets, it equips youth for tech driven agriculture via drones, sensors, and food processing startups, bypassing middlemen for true autonomy. Raisen’s fertile plains, home to UNESCO sites Sanchi and Bhimbetka, now pioneer horticulture hubs and pulse missions.

Yet, challenges persist (volatile markets, climate risks, and youth migration) from farms. This festival charts the path, merging security, welfare, and technology to forge a Viksit Bharat. As exports soar and irrigation expands, India’s farmers stand poised for dignity and abundance.
