MCB, December 4, 2024 Under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, the dream of owning a permanent home came true for Jamuna Baiga, a beneficiary from the special backward Baiga tribe in Devgarh village, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. The construction of his house, sanctioned under the scheme for the year 2023-24, marked a transformative chapter in his life.

From Approval to Completion: A Step-by-Step Journey

Jamuna Baiga recalls how his life changed with the approval of a pucca house under the scheme. Following the completion of necessary documentation at the panchayat level, the construction work began with the first installment of ₹40,000. Guided by technical advice, the progress was steady, and subsequent installments were disbursed as the work advanced. Before long, Jamuna Baiga’s dream of a secure home became a reality.

A Life Transformed

Reflecting on his past struggles, Jamuna Baiga shared the hardships of living in a temporary, thatched house. As a daily wage laborer, he faced numerous challenges, including:

  • Leaky roofs and damp walls during the rainy season.
  • Extreme cold that disrupted sleep during winter nights.
  • Fear of snakes, scorpions, and other poisonous creatures throughout the year.

Now, with a solid roof over his head, those problems are a thing of the past. He and his family sleep peacefully in their new home, free from the dangers and discomforts of their previous dwelling. The pucca house has not only improved their quality of life but also enhanced their social standing in the community.

Gratitude Towards the Government

Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Jamuna Baiga thanked the district administration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for making his dream come true. He emphasized how various government schemes have supported his family’s economic and social growth, contributing to a brighter future.

Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana: A Comprehensive Welfare Initiative

The Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to ensure the holistic development of special backward tribal families. The scheme provides benefits such as:

  • Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for housing.
  • Ayushman Cards for health coverage.
  • Jan Dhan Accounts for financial inclusion.
  • Access to Nal Jal for clean drinking water.
  • Support through livelihood and skill development programs, Ujjwala Yojana, and more.

Through these integrated welfare programs, the government is ensuring that special backward tribal families like Jamuna Baiga’s receive 100% benefits to improve their living standards and secure a better future.

Jamuna Baiga’s story is a testament to the impact of government schemes that are designed to uplift marginalized communities, providing them with opportunities for a dignified life.
