Dhami Announces 63 Development Projects Worth Rupees 155.36 Crore for Chamoli

Chamoli, July 15, 2026: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave a fresh push to Chamoli’s development by announcing 63 projects worth Rupees 155.36 crore during the Seva, Sushasan aur Samarpan service fortnight programme held at the police ground in Gopeshwar. He laid the foundation stone for 36 projects worth ₹113.99 crore and inaugurated 27 projects worth Rupees 41.37 crore.

Dhami said the state government’s aim is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in line. He added that continuous work is being done to strengthen roads, bridges, education, health, irrigation, flood protection, animal husbandry, tourism, and other basic infrastructure. He said Chamoli is highly significant from religious, cultural, and strategic perspectives, and the government is committed to its development.

Among the foundation-stone projects were a steel truss bridge at Jugju on the Joshimath-Niti route, a 78-metre iron bridge on the Langsi-Dwing-Tapovan-Lanj-Pokhani motor road, reconstruction of the Mhalchauri-Silangna Ghaniyali motor road, expansion of the Chandnikhal-Radwa-Kandai-Rensu motor road, the Visalakhal-Devikhet-Bameshwar motor road, and restoration work on 13 mountain canals in Nandanagar. Several flood protection works, DIET Gauchar maintenance, veterinary hospital projects, a community building and parking facility at Sem-Top, school infrastructure, and multiple road and bridge projects were also included.

The inaugurated projects included interlocking tiles on the Gairsain main road, the Semi-Mason motor road, the Hapala-Gudam-Nail-Nauli motor road, blacktopping of the Nandasain-Malai road, DIPHL buildings at BPHU Pokhari and District Hospital Chamoli, libraries, art and craft rooms and science laboratories in schools, the Bairagana trout indoor hatchery, a two-court badminton hall at the sports stadium in Gopeshwar, the Kalpeshwar pathway and arch bridge, the Pandukeshwar cooperative society building, and several road upgradation works.

The event was attended by district in-charge minister Bharat Singh Chaudhary, MLAs Bhupl Ram Tamta, Anil Nautiyal and Lakhpat Butola, District Panchayat President Daulat Singh Bisht, municipal chairpersons, women commission vice chairperson Chandrakala Tiwari, state ministers and other public representatives, as well as senior district officials.
