DAY-NULM Receives Three-Month Extension: Employees Thank Deputy CM Arun Saw

Raipur, November 27, 2024 The State Urban Administration and Development Department has announced a three-month extension for the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM). With this extension, mission activities can now continue until December 31, 2024. A circular in this regard has been issued to the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) by the department.

Expression of Gratitude to Deputy CM Arun Saw

Following the extension, employees working under the mission, including State Mission Managers, City Mission Managers, Community Organizers, and Community Resource Persons (CRPs), met Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Arun Saw at his Raipur residence. During the meeting, they expressed their gratitude for the government’s decision, which ensures continuity of operations and benefits under the mission.

Key Benefits of the Extension

The extension secures regular honorariums for employees engaged in the mission across 170 urban local bodies in the state. It includes:

  • City Mission Managers and Community Organizers working at the city level.
  • CRP women and members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
  • State Mission Managers working in the central office.

The decision ensures the enthusiastic implementation of mission activities, enabling urban poor communities to continue benefiting from the scheme.

Focus on Uplifting Urban Poor Communities

This move reflects the state government’s commitment to addressing urban poverty through sustained livelihood opportunities. By maintaining regular disbursement of honorariums, it ensures the seamless execution of activities aimed at:

  • Empowering Self-Help Groups.
  • Providing skill development opportunities for urban poor communities.
  • Supporting women through CRP-led initiatives.

The employees’ appreciation highlights their renewed motivation to deliver impactful results for the mission, ensuring the welfare of underprivileged sections in urban areas.

The extension is expected to boost the mission’s momentum and further its goal of improving the livelihoods of the urban poor across Chhattisgarh.
