Chief Minister Inaugurates RADA Auto Expo 2025 with Road Tax Incentives

Raipur, January 16, 2024 – Chhattisgarh is witnessing significant economic growth as the rising income of its farmers positively impacts the state’s automobile industry and overall economy. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the much-awaited RADA Auto Expo 2025 at the Science College Ground in Raipur, emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering growth across sectors.

The state government has announced a 50% lifetime road tax rebate on vehicle purchases, which is expected to accelerate sales during the event. Speaking at the inauguration, CM Sai highlighted how the state’s policies are creating ripple effects, benefiting industries like automobiles.

Impact of Rising Farmers’ Income

CM Sai credited the rise in farmers’ income as a key driver of Chhattisgarh’s economic growth. Last year, 24.72 lakh farmers sold 145 lakh metric tons of paddy, and this year, the government expects to procure nearly 160 lakh metric tons from 27 lakh registered farmers. “Higher income in the hands of farmers is translating into greater purchasing power, boosting sectors like automobiles,” he said.

Road Tax Relief to Boost Sales

During the previous RADA Auto Expo, over 10,000 vehicles were sold. With the state government’s decision to provide a 50% concession on lifetime road tax, this year’s sales are projected to double, potentially crossing 20,000 units. The Chief Minister lauded the Auto Expo as a platform where people can conveniently explore and purchase vehicles suited to their needs.

Automobiles and Traffic Safety

CM Sai launched two new vehicles during the event – the Honda SP 125 and the Audi Q7. He also emphasized the importance of traffic safety, urging citizens to adhere to traffic rules and be responsible road users. To underscore the government’s commitment to safety, he unveiled a traffic safety poster and honored individuals and organizations for their notable contributions to road safety.

RADA (Raipur Automobile Dealers Association) also contributed ₹5 lakh under CSR for road safety initiatives, showcasing their dedication to making roads safer.

  • MP Brijmohan Agrawal emphasized that the rise in farmers’ income is directly benefiting the auto sector. He called the 50% road tax concession a game-changer for middle-class families and highlighted the need for increased awareness about road safety.
