Bhopal, November , 2024 – Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) as a transformative initiative aimed at positioning India as a global financial center. Speaking after his visit to the state-of-the-art facility in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Dr. Yadav emphasized that this ambitious project, envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, strengthens the Indian economy while offering lucrative opportunities for investors.

Dr. Yadav toured GIFT City, which is situated on the banks of the Sabarmati River and is India’s first greenfield smart city. He praised its cutting-edge infrastructure, including the automated garbage and waste collection systems, as well as the underground waste tunnels, which exemplify sustainable urban planning.


About GIFT City

Established as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in 2007, GIFT City aims to promote international financial and commercial activities, elevating India to the status of a global financial hub. Key features of GIFT City include:

  • State-of-the-art Infrastructure: A blend of smart city technology, green energy systems, premium office spaces, residential complexes, hotels, and recreational facilities.

During his visit, Dr. Yadav also reviewed the Gujarat CM Dashboard, describing it as an exemplary model of e-governance. This digital platform enables real-time monitoring and evaluation of government schemes and programs, fostering transparency, accountability, and efficient administration.

The dashboard integrates data from various administrative levels, including villages and talukas, using tools such as:

  • Performance Measurement: Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) across government departments.
  • Feedback Mechanism: Collects feedback to assess citizen satisfaction and refine service delivery.
  • Data Integration: Real-time data validation and analysis ensure informed decision-making and timely implementation of projects.

Dr. Yadav noted that the platform significantly enhances governance by streamlining operations in critical sectors like health, education, road infrastructure, and local administration.


Key Discussions with Gujarat Officials

During his Gandhinagar visit, Dr. Yadav met with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and senior officials to exchange insights on various developmental policies, including:

  2. Urban Planning: Enhancing small-town development through structured urban plans.
